Each day more than 27, 000 children under the age of five die, most from preventable infectious diseases and almost all in countries with limited resources.

 

Three quarters of these deaths occur in Sub Saharan Africa and South Asia; among the leading causes are pneumonia and diarrhoeal diseases. In emergency situations, often hygiene (water and sanitation)  is the biggest problem to control outbreaks of diseases.

 

It is well known that simply by washing hands with soap generally reduces the risk of diarrhoea between 37 to 48%.

 

In places where there is no infrastructure, hand washing can be complicated. Lonsaf Marketing and partners have developed a 5L and 10L durable water bag which can be hung or places close to washing facilities where one can wash ones hands. (Toilets or generally a place where hands can be washed, during emergency situations.)
