SANIZYME

 SANIZYME: The Smarter Greener Way.

A Bio-Additive for Faecal Sludge sanitation and stabilization.

Using nature’s own technologies and importantly moving away from harsh chemicals, SANIZYME is the introduction to biological solutions to improve biological solutions to improve domestic and industrial performance in sanitation.

Natural recycling maintains a perfect balance; micro-organisms degrade waste organics and turn them into essential chemical elements. However, contamination often exceeds the rate of natural biological processes.

SANIZYME applied technology helps nature clean itself by introducing highly specialized naturally occurring micro-organisms with enhanced degradation capabilities.

In their natural environment, bacteria produce hundreds of enzymes in response to the organics present in their environment. They produce extracellular enzymes that break down proteins, starches, fats, oils, greases, and toilet tissue into smaller particles outside the bacterial wall. The bacteria then transports the smaller particles across the cell membranes for use as an energy source and for the building of new cellular components. Since bacteria detects the organics present as potential food and produces the specific enzymes to break down these organics, it is a very efficient system. Many different enzymes are required to completely break down a substrate.

SANIZYME is a bio-product that restores effective activity in latrine pits, septic tanks and mobile toilets to:

  • Reduce bottom solids and surface scum

  • Reduces odours

  • Protects drain defects.

It has long been known that bacteria and enzymes will degrade waste matter, whether it be the leaves falling each year from the trees, or the excrement from animals roaming the countryside. However, when larger volumes of waste are deposited as produced by human habitation in a confined area, it can take time to disappear and in the meantime an unacceptable odour can pollute the environment.

Burying this waste can alleviate some of the problem, but it is hardly a long-term solution and risks contaminating ground water and in large quantities, any surrounding vegetation.

Installing earth toilets for people can offer a solution, whilst creating simple sewage treatment systems such as septic tanks, will offer a more satisfactory outcome.

By separating the effluent, so that is does not become one very large problem, into individual sites, each with their own treatment system, it is clear that the waste becomes manageable.

Therefore, if a small number of people were supplied with an earth toilet, where they could urinate and defecate, and the resulting waste was periodically treated with a cocktail of micro-organisms that would quickly degrade the solids, gradually converting  it into liquids athat would be purified as they filtered through the substrate, the environment would remain in a cleaner and healthier state.

Better still, if that community were supplied with a septic tank, after the biological treatment, the liquid runoff would be cleaner still.

So, in order to achieve an odour free environment, which in turn would suffer less infestation from insects, ( flies and mosquitoes) the biological treatment ofthe large volumes of excrement and human waste produced by the increased colonization of areas is imperative.

This can be achieved simply by erecting individual earth toilets; these consist of a double chamber dug into the ground with two toilet seats at normal chair height across the top.

One chamber is ‘seeded’ with a small amount (25g) of SANIZYME biological powder or liquid containing the microbes and enzymes required to facilitate the breakdown and deodourisation of the waste.

The chamber is used as a toilet and as it is used periodic re-seeding with micro-organisms is done. After a while, and as the first chamber reaches 50% capacity, it is rested and the second chamber is brought into play.

The same process of seeding and re-seeding is carried out, by which time the effluent will have been greatly reduced.

So the first chamber is then recomissioned and the second one is rested.

With a septic tank, the same process is achieved, but the various toilets are invariably placed in buildings and all feed through pipes and these lead into a treatment chamber.

Again, by applying ‘seed’ doses of the micro-organisms and enzymes, the waste is degraded and the subsequent liquids absorbed into the substrate through filter beds leading from the treatment unit.

Relying upon the bacteria in the effluent can sometimes achieve a slow degradation but by inducing the correct strains of bacteria that usually breaks down human waste and foodstuffs, it is possible to speed up and thereby improve the degradation of waste so that the system can handle more volume a lot more efficiently.

SANIZYME product Presentation:

Description:

Basically SANIZYME is present in a dry powder or in a liquid form.

Both versions of this technology contains large amounts of bacteria and free enzymes.

SANIZYME includes enzymes into the products to ensure the bacteria are able to quickly adjust and begin degrading the organic material, in what otherwise is a very hostile environment. The enzymes make the ‘food’ more readily available so that when the bacteria are re-awakened, it can begin to feed and reproduce. We are unaware of any of our competitors having the ability to include free enzymes into their liquid products because of the difficulty in preserving and stabilizing both the enzymes and the bacteria in the same fluid.

The SANIZYME formulae contains over 2o different strains of non-pathogenic bacteria. These are selected because they do not produce aromatic gasses, hence no offending odours.

It can quickly degrade all sorts of different organic compounds, so they are therefore suited for use in a variety of effluent types.

It can also function in a wide range of temperatures and PH levels.

These factors combined afford the consumer a greater degree of efficiency in resolving effluent challenges.

The important thing to remember when using these types of products is to introduce a  â€˜ shock’ or ‘start-up’ dosage. This rapidly establishes the bio-mass. One then has to follow up with regular maintenance doses of the appropriate amount, based on the volume of effluent that has to be treated.

Product Info:

The introduction of SANIZYME as a microbial solution demonstrates superior enzyme performance for use in multiple applications. The solution exhibits a broad range of degradation capabilities needed for a multipurpose products in the maintenance of drain lines, improving septic and waste disposal, cleaning and odour control.

SANIZYME produces key extracellular enzymes and bacteria for fast breakdown of organics.  Drain lines, septic systems and surfaces are nutrient rich sources for bacteria. Although many types of bacteria can utilize these organics as food sources, it is the bacteria with the most rapid production of these key enzymes that provide the most dramatic effects. This microbial solution is the next generation technology in microbial blends with degradation capability superior to the present commercially available microbial blends.

Benefits:

SANIZYME is designed to provide exceptional performance for the following applications which in turn helps keep the septic systems trouble-free;

  • Improves system’s biological stability.

  • Neutral PH of 6.5 – 7.5

  • Provides rapid system recovery and helps eliminate shock kills.

  • Provides long-term odour control by removing the organics that cause bad odours.

  • Eliminates odours due to organic build up.

  • Reduces frequency of pumping.

  • Improves drain-flow.

  • Breaks down tissue, detergents, fats, oils and grease.

  • Reduces organic loading to septic drain field and complete sewer systems.

  •

Features:

  • Stable consortium of Vacillus spores and Enzyme.

  • Production of multiple enzymes providing a wide range of degradation capabilities.

  • A synergistic blend that works in concert to provide superior performance across multiple applications.

  • Ability to work under aerobic and anaerobic conditions.

Application Areas:

  • Drain Lines: Degrades and eliminates organics found in drain systems, regular addition of SANIZYME maintains a cleaner and odour-free system.

  • Septic and Waste Treatment: SANIZYME maintains effective activity in septic systems by eliminating the need for excessive pumping, eliminates odours caused by incomplete digestion of malodourous volatile and fatty acids.

  • Odour Controller: SANIZYME penetrates into cracks, crevices and pores of surfaces where organics accumulate , actually removing the organics to leave a visually cleaner surface. It also provides a long-term odour control solution in that it removes the organics that cause odours and prevents the return of these offensive compounds.
